For nearly thirty years as a board-certified plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist, I have had the privilege of being able to help thousands of men, women, and children from all over the world with a variety of concerns, ranging from cosmetic and anti-aging treatments to serious facial reconstructive procedures. But if there is one thing that I have learned in all that time, it is that it all would have been impossible to do alone. Fortunately I have had a tremendous amount of support in the form of my medical team, many of whom have been with me from the very beginning. Here is a look at some of the people who make all of the work that I do possible.
The newest addition to our practice is our Physician Assistant, Kalyani Pandya, who meets with patients in our clinic and directly assists me during surgery. Born in Gujarat, India and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Kalyani has had a cosmopolitan background and is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. She is extremely eager to expand her already considerable knowledge of various surgical techniques so that she can use that expertise on mission trips in the future, and is quickly becoming an expert in administering injectable facial rejuvenation treatments with Botox® and facial fillers.
Michelle Coppenger, our Registered Nurse and Aesthetic Consulting Imaging Specialist, has been working with me for the past twenty years. During patient consultations, Michelle takes before and after photos and then, using advanced computer imaging software, works with those photos to show patients a representation of what we can accomplish with various cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. She also performs various non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures for my patients and frequently does volunteer work with various outreach groups like the Community Action Center in Sandy Springs, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, National Charity League, and Foster Care Support.
The day to day operation of my practice is largely handled by Administrative Assistants Lisa Merlino and Veronica Flores. With more than a decade of experience as a Patient Care Coordinator, Lisa assists in the scheduling of surgeries and in conducting consultations and follow-ups, while Veronica works with insurance claims and referrals for my many pediatric and reconstructive plastic surgery patients, helps coordinate insurance authorizations, and schedules patient appointments. Both have been essential parts of my practice for years, and I don’t know what I would ever do without them.
When you manage to gather a team of dedicated individuals like this, who work together so seamlessly, you can do truly remarkable things. I personally know that it is in large part the support of these talented professionals that makes it possible for me to consistently achieve exceptional facial plastic surgery results. If you are interested in learning more about any of the cosmetic, reconstructive, or pediatric plastic surgery procedures that I perform, I would welcome you to contact my office and schedule a consultation.
