Botox® Cosmetic and facial fillers have remained the top two non-surgical cosmetic procedures performed in the U.S. according to the latest statistics by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). These minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments can be performed in-office with a few, quick injections that provide long-lasting results with little to no downtime. With many FDA approved cosmetic injectables available today, Dr. Fernando Burstein and his Nurse Practitioner offer their patients a variety of injectables to address the signs of aging.
Facial fillers like Restylane®, Perlane®, and Juvéderm® consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occuring substance found in the body that provides volume and support for tissue. These products are often used to fill in wrinkles and restore lost volume in areas like the cheeks and lips. Perlane® in particular can address deeper, more prominent wrinkles and folds in facial skin. Cosmetic injectables such as Botox® and Dysport® are made with a purified form of botulinum toxin A that relaxes muscles in the forehead and between the eyes. By relaxing facial muscles, wrinkles are smoothed and prevented from further wrinkling.
Many patients choose injectables because they can be customized to address their unique facial structure and skin concerns. Botox® and Dysport® can be combined with dermal fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® because they each address a different area of the face. For example, Dr. Burstein can create a treatment plan for a patient concerned with crow’s feet and nasolabial folds as well as a patient who wants to address thinning skin around the lips and lost cheek volume. Patients also benefit from very little to no downtime and subtle, long-lasting rejuvenation.
