Atlanta Plastic Surgeon Dr. Fernando Burstein Voted Plastic Surgery ‘Top Doc’ for Fifth Consecutive Year
Fernando Burstein, M.D., F.A.C.S, F.A.A.P. of Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C. recognized as a national ‘Top Doc’ in the field of Plastic Surgery for five years in a row.
Double board certified Atlanta plastic surgeon Dr. Fernando Burstein has been nationally recognized as a ‘Top Doc’ in Plastic Surgery in the July 2013 issue of Atlanta Magazine. Every year, Atlanta Magazine publishes a list of the area’s best physicians in a variety of specialties ranging from sports medicine and pediatrics to plastic surgery and otolaryngology. Dr. Burstein has earned the ‘Top Doc’ honor nine times overall: 1999, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Atlanta Magazine’s list is compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a leading New York healthcare organization that dedicates its research to helping consumers find the best possible healthcare. Beginning with an extensive peer-nomination process, licensed physicians in the metro Atlanta area can vote for physicians in their respective fields who demonstrate exceptional patient care and academic superiority. Castle Connolly then identifies the nation’s best physicians from the nominees through a rigorous screening process by a physician-led research team.
“It’s an honor to receive recognition for your everyday duty of providing the best possible patient care, especially from dedicated and skilled colleagues,” Dr. Burstein noted about the repeated honor. To further patient education, Dr. Burstein engages with his patients through his facial plastic surgery blog, social media, procedure videos, and informational website. Many of his patients also highlight their personal experiences and satisfaction through his Spotlight Patient blogs.
Double board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology (head and neck surgery), Dr. Burstein performs a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures including facelift surgery and rhinoplasty to cleft lip and palate reconstruction. To help his patients maintain long-lasting results and eliminate moderate to minimal signs of aging, he provides non-surgical facial rejuvenation including injectables, TCA chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing with the latest Sciton® Erbium laser. Serving as the Director of the Center for Craniofacial Disorders at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dr. Burstein also treats congenital disorders for pediatric patients.
With over 25 years of surgical experience, Dr. Burstein has refined innovative surgical techniques to maximize patient experience and provide natural-looking results. For treatment of muscular torticollis, Dr. Burstein employs a minimally invasive endoscopic technique to decrease post-operative complication risk and camouflage scars within the hairline. He also utilizes a similar endoscopic technique for brow lift surgery to minimize scarring with smaller incisions hidden in natural facial contours. Additionally, he uses fat grafting techniques for facial contouring, which use the patient’s own bone, cartilage, or tissue during surgery instead of synthetic material.
