Plastic surgery can be an intensely personal and even emotionally taxing experience. Often, a patient may struggle with the decision to undergo a particular cosmetic or reconstructive procedure for months or even years before finally deciding to move forward. Particularly when dealing with the face, the part of the body most tied to identity and personality, patients can be, quite rightly, apprehensive about any changes that might need to be made. That is why I believe a vitally important part of a plastic surgeon’s job is to make an emotional connection with his or her patients, and why I value the relationships that I have built with the men, women, and children that have come to see me over the years so highly. It is also one of the reasons why I am so honored to have been named as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in the field of plastic surgery again this year.
Each year, Atlanta Magazine publishes a roster of the doctors “to whom physicians would send their own families” as a way to help readers find the very best health care providers available. This list, which is compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an organization founded in 1991 to help guide consumers to the highest quality healthcare, uses extensive peer nominations and a rigorous screening process led by a physician research team to identify the nation’s best doctors in fifty-eight different specialties. Hundreds of thousands of licensed physicians from across the country nominate and vote for those doctors who not only excel in academic medicine and research, but who also exhibit exceptional patient care, creating a list of “Top Doctors” on both the national and regional levels. Castle Connolly’s emphasis on both the evaluations of experienced medical professionals and the testimonials of actual patients is, in my opinion, what makes their recognition such a privilege.
This year marks the eighth consecutive year that I have been honored as an Atlanta “Top Doc,” and the twelfth since 1999. In the more than twenty-five years that I have been board certified in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology (head and neck surgery), I have always made it my goal to use my skill, experience, and knowledge of facial anatomy to produce subtle and natural-looking plastic surgery results for all of my patients. I consider this recognition a testament to the enduring support of my exceptional medical staff and to the inspiration that I draw from all of my patients every day. But most of all this recognition really highlights what I am most proud of, my long-standing commitment to my patients in Atlanta and beyond. If you are interested in learning more about any of the facial plastic surgery procedures that I perform or if you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss your particular needs, please contact our office for additional information.
