Craniofacial Surgery
A specific area within the maxillofacial surgery discipline that focuses on the reconstruction of skull and facial bones to alleviate the symptoms of congenital deformities like cleft lip, cleft palate, abnormalities of the skull, and mandibular deformities. Atlanta facial reconstructive surgeon Dr. Fernando Burstein completed his fellowship in craniofacial surgery at UCLA in 1989 and continues to advance his reconstructive surgical techniques as the medical director of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Center for Craniofacial Disorders.
