Congenital Disorders
Congenital disorders are medical conditions and disorders that are present at birth and are usually more successfully treated in infants and small children. Correcting congenital defects at a young age allows the patient to experience a “normal” future. Some congenital defects are more apparent at birth than others, but they can be diagnosed by a qualified dysmorphologist (a specialist in genetic-related disorder) although not all congenital defects are genetic. Dr. Burstein treats common and rare congenital defects of the face, head, and neck through pediatric reconstructive surgery.
